MLM – Multilevel Marketing and Get Rich Quick schemes.

You will not find reviews of MLM (Multilevel Marketing) methods on this site, because I only review methods and products I have experience with. I am skeptical about marketing methods that involve “downlines” and promise huge returns.

If you are new to internet marketing and searching the internet for ways to make money online, you will find that there is a lot of hype out there, much of which sounds too good to be true.
My advice is to a beginner is to familiarize yourself with the basic business models underlying internet marketing, and if you come across a scheme that is not open about how they operate, or where you have to sign up and pay money up-front, in order to find out how their system operates, then be on your guard.

Theme Wars: The Battle is on Vote For The Best WordPress Themes

Theme Wars has gone live. Theme Wars isn’t your ordinary WordPress theme store. It’s a community of blog designers and bloggers with a Weekly War – a contest to design a particular type of theme as voted in by the community the previous week. Any blog designer can submit their original design entry into the “Weekly War”. The top two designs, by community election, will be sold in the Theme Store. The winning designers will receive 25% and 10%, respectively, each time their winning design sells. Winning designers become eligible to produce new themes for Theme Wars and share in the profits.

Designers and Bloggers both gain.

For Theme Designers, Theme Wars is an opportunity to gain exposure and earn money by submitting their designs into the Weekly War. In addition to receiving a percentage of each sale, winning designers will also gain a spot in the “Featured Designers” page for even more marketing and brand exposure.

Bloggers will benefit from not only the access to a stream of themes from the competing designers, but from the feedback loop that Theme Wars sets up, enabling bloggers across the board to feed into the design process thus ensuring that designer are truly listening to the needs of the blogging community. Bloggers get to vote not only for the types of designs they would like to see, but also on the specific theme (e.g, business, entertainment) that will be created. The resulting themes will be released under the WordPress GPL so bloggers will be able to use the themes on as many sites as they wish.

Price

Themes are be priced at $69 for a multi-use license to $149 for a developer license – including Photoshop files. A monthly membership to Theme Wars at $20 per month plus a one-time payment of $147 gives you access to all past, present and future themes, video tutorials and theme updates, as well as unlimited access to the support forum.

A developer access pass costs $27 per month plus a one-time payment of $177. This provides access to all past, present and future themes, as well as unlimited access to the support forum, documentation, video tutorials, theme updates and Photoshop files.

PhpOstock plugin

I have been trying out a new Overstock.com affiliate plugin for wordpress called phpOstock (See Example posting:http://honestreviews.us/phpostock/), I first tried it out on my frostingshots.com blog and got a bunch of xml errors. Thinking it might be a server issue ( this frostingshots.com site is hosted on Hostgator
which I’ve rarely have any issues with) I tested it on this blog which is on another server, and it worked. Not ready to give up on the other site however I went back and tried deactivating some of the other plugins on the hostgator site, I disabled several plugins and now the phpOstock plugin works fine. So if you are getting xml errors with the phpOStock Plugin for WordPress try deactivating some of your other plugins and see if that works.
The phpOStock Plugin for WordPress comes in a free, and pro version. You will need to join the Overstock.com affiliate program through CJ.com and have a wordpress blog on you own hosting account ( I recommend Hostgator)
